Fruit Fragrance

Διαφάνεια2When  it  comes  to  fruit, people  always get the sense of spring and summer, healthy and organic.                                                                               In EcoluxeLondon Boutique, grapes and strawberries, apples and bananas, become hot commodities. The  fruit element is applied in both pattern and shape by various designers for season’s items.

Διαφάνεια7

This trend has also become a favourite of many celebrities, who provide a new discription of fashion via their own unique  skills for colours and styles matching. Obviously, a youthfull look is created through vibrant colours and bold design.

As  Winter is coming while we still miss the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, let us find out how EcoluxeLondon Boutique conquers our taste buds and vision.

Διαφάνεια3The strawberry fragrance is ‘felt’  through  the  vivid design so strongly  that sometimes you even desire to eat it….  The  necklace and rings are from  the ‘Bailey Tomlin’ collection.

Διαφάνεια4Grapes are  very appetizing and tasteful ….  and  ‘Bailey Tomlin’  is inspired by the  fine design of the fruit and the vine leaves.  Are  you  ready to wear  them?

Διαφάνεια5Bananas  give us the impression of strength whilst the yellow colour makes us think of freshness and happiness. This eye catching combination is used by ‘Les Konsphin’ to create their accessories.

Διαφάνεια6We  all know that earrings are an important final touch to a fashionable look. These stylish apple-green  earrings by ‘Craftworks Cambodia’ are the perfect example of respect for the environment as they are made from upcycled paper.

Ecoluxe London sustainable luxury fashion show: A Grinn fairy tale

Jan de Villeneuve takes to the Catwalk in Support of Ethical Luxury

during London Fashion Week

CashIsQueen_RebekahRoy_1

“I am looking forward  to  being  on  the  Ecoluxe London catwalk  during  London  fashion  week, helping  to  promote   sustainable  luxury  with  an  ethos  as  well  as   the  fabulous  creative  embroidery   of  Fine  Cell  Work” says an enthusiastic Jan de Villeneuve, top model.

For its 8th edition, Ecoluxe London teams up with award-winning prison charity and social enterprise Fine Cell Work for the first ever sustainable luxury fashion show during London Fashion Week, with an online silent auction to raise funds, including donations from Stella McCartney, Margaret Howell and Chloe in support of Fine Cell Work, that will be embellished by its embroiderers to create unique pieces. There will also be a drinks reception.

On 17th February 2014, 19.00 in Kingsway Hall, 66 Great Queen Street, WC2B 5BX Covent Garden.

Fashion is a new departure for the Fine Cell Work embroiderers who are more familiar with embroidering intricate patterns for cushions and interior accessories to the highest standards. For Autumn/ Winter 2014 Fine Cell Work will be promoting their SWAG bag collection.

“My mother sewed beautifully and she inspired my passion for sewing and embroidery. I always seemed to be making tapestry cushions on film sets which I gave away to friends.

There is great satisfaction in seeing the finished product after the hard work.

Sometimes I would become so engrossed in it that I was more interested in finishing the cushion than the film!” (Dame Judi Dench, Patron of Fine Cell Work)

This is the first time that Fine Cell Work has collaborated with fashion designers to embellish their pieces with exquisite embroidery.

“It is fantastic that Ecoluxe London are supporting Fine Cell Work. The Ecoluxe London Fashion Show is important for the new opportunities it will bring prisoners for work in the future in the fashion industry. I thoroughly support it.” (Wayne Hemingway, MBE)

We are so excited about the show. We have incredible brands from all over the world this season; we are also hugely proud to be able to showcase the prisoners’ embroidery work. This is a wonderful opportunity to promote an amazing charity (Stamo, co-founder of Ecoluxe London).

No2: Ecoluxe London Sep ’12 adds an international flavour to London

By Stamo

Today we will continue our journey through Europe discovering more ethical brands that showcased their work in our Ecoluxe London Sep ’12 showroom.

Europe and its ethical fashion were well represented in our Sep ’12 Showroom with exhibitors coming from Spain, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Sweden and Greece.

MuMu Organic filled the room with sea breeze and colours inspired by the Aegean sea. Athena Bentila and Roland Wakker founded the label in 2009 and are committed to using organic and eco friendly natural fibres, supporting Fair Trade producers and creating employment for people in Greece.

Cardou, based in Athens uses end-of-rolls of high end fabrics to create limited edition casual wear. It is committed to Fair Trade principles and ethics.

Tu&Tu, all the way from Italy creates double sided rainwear, bags and dresses using organic cotton and fabric made of recycled plastic bottles which has a luxurious ‘velvet’ feel. For the Tu&Tu prduction, Roberta, its founder and designer is collaborating with Lister Social Cooperative , located within the Department of Mental Health of Trieste.

French label Myrtle Accessories recycles wellies by deconstructing them and using the different components to create multi coloured bags decorated with strings and knots.

Inez Osvald, from Sweden uses leather by products as well as Scottish tweeds to create luxurious handbags that compliment every wardrobe.

B-made and Bernadette, from Netherlands create beautiful jewellery in collaboration with Nepalese artisans. Pictures speak for themselves.

Enjoy!

MYRTLE : French Heat British Cool

Fusing a love of bold modern design, the vivid colours and brightness of Provence, & a desire to use a wonderfully green new material, British designer, Amanda Sutton has created a vibrant, beautifully crafted range of bags & launched a new name, MYRTLE

Using a brand new recycling process, the great British Wellington boot is broken down to its basic properties and reformatted into a strong, pliable material, with each sheet containing unique patterns and colours.

This recycled rubber is then combined with printed cotton canvas for the MYRTLE PLAGE collection of stunning beach bags and with lacquered Muiracatiara wood, colourful nautical rope and chrome catches for the MYRTLE handbag collection.

Each bag is individually hand constructed, and because of the colour patterns of the repurposed material, completely unique!
